After playing jazz for years, Amber Haddad -half Belgian, half Libanese singer- has lost her heart to Arabian music…
During the last years of her Jazz education at Maastricht college of music she has been working on finding a combination between traditional Jazz music and Arabian music. For her, this was a return to her roots; discovering a totally different culture from the one she grew up in, in Gent, Belgium.
This mix of Jazz and Arabian music has inspired her to write her own songs and to further explore her hearts desires. With this inspiration as a starting point she continues on her journey using original and already existing pieces in Arab and English. She’s not alone on this journey. Travelling with her are: Pianist David Demuynck, Double bass player Rob Verspauwen and drummer Daniel Jonkers.
