Jesse Passenier & Audrey Apers
Happy Medium is Jesse Passenier’s (winner of the 2017 Rogier van Otterloo award) interdisciplinairy improvisation project.
During Cultura Nova Passenier – playing keys – invited dancer Audrey Apers through the Dutch Dance Festival for an improvisation around the fountain on the festival square. The goal: To have different media – music, dance and surroundings – communicate on an even plane! A conversation arises in which the problem of “speaking different languages” is overcome.
“Why should a festival composer do an improvisation?” Passenier was wondering…
“Because an improvisation like this is nothing less than instant composing”.
Jesse and Audrey are happy to give their performance a reprise at Intro. With this performance they are kicking of a new season of Jonge Honden!
