20th Century Sax
Saxophonist Tom Sanderman is back at Intro!
Two large solo works for soprano saxophone by arguably the two biggest Italian composers of the twentieth century. Saxophonist Tom Sanderman plays ‘Sequenza VIIb’ by Luciano Berio, a composition based on (maybe even impossible) modern playing techniques for the saxophone and also one Berio’s first forays into the use of electronics in a composition.
He will then makes an interesting juxtaposition by playing ‘Tre Pezzi’ by Giacinto Scelsi. A work in which silence and meditation are key.
