Whoever you are come forth (Try-out)
In Whoever you are come forth, Sanderman plays works by the heirs of the minimalists, 50 years after the start of this influential movement.
Saxophonist Tom Sanderman had his debut last year with his solo programme The River Beneath Us. His debut cd formed the basis for a series of concerts containing minimal music by Steve Reich, Terry Riley, Philip Glass – and a work written specially for him by Anthony Fiumura.
We will hear Whoever you are come forth by Vermeulen prize 2017 winner Kate Moore, and and a brand new work by Gaudeamus prize 2017 winner Aart Strootman. Two other new pieces were composed by Remy Alexander and Anthony Fiumura who regularly write new works for Sanderman.
A programme in which the collaboration between Sanderman and composers to create new compositions is the central theme
Anthony Fiumara (1968) – Solo for alto saxophone (new arrangement)
Remy Alexander (1991) – New Work
Kate Moore (1979) – Whoever you are come forth (new arrangement)
Aart Strootman (1987) – New Work
Anthony Fiumara (1968) New Work
