Ramon Lormans is one of the most sought-after classical percussionists of this moment. With his passionate and communicative stage presence he manages to touch his audience. Ramon started playing percussion since his fifth year and expanded that with piano two years later. He was noticed by Willy Goudswaard and studied at the Young Talentclass of the Fontys Conservatory from 1998 until 2001. Between 2008 and 2010 he followed classes at the Academy of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. In 2010 Ramon graduated with distinction for his Master’s degree at the Conservatory of Amsterdam where he studied with Peter Prommel, Victor Oskam, Walter van Hauwe, Willem Brons and Bart Schneemann. Since 10 years he has been performing as one half of the duo Sax & Stix with Eva van Grinsven. He is also percussionist with Lunapark, Temko, Houdijk-Lormans and ensemble “Stage animals”.

Ramon was prize winner of the Princess Christina Competition (2004), Tromp International (2006), Chamber Music Almere (2007), Vriendenkrans Competition (2008) and won the Grachtenfestival Price (2012). Ramon has been a professor of Marimba at the Conservatory of Amsterdam since 2007. Ramon gave concerts in all major venues in the Netherlands and has given master classes and recitals in Antwerp, Detmold, Donaueschingen, El Espinar, Köln, Krakow, Luxembourg, New York, Paris, St. Petersburg, Tbilisi, Tokyo and at the Zeltsman Marimba Festival.
