Five adventurers from the Italian underground jump effortlessly between mainstream and avant-garde. “Vibrant jazz, unruly and colourful” (All About Jazz). The quintet Comanda Barabba has developed a vast its 15 years of activity. The band will mainly play pieces from the recently released CD: “Jazz Resistant”, together with some of their older “classics”. Effortlessly they jump between various styles ranging from Thelonious Monk, Christian Ferlaino and AACM. The band consists of: Nicola Guazzaloca (piano), Tim Trevor-Briscoe (alto saxophone/clarinet), Christian Ferlaino (alto-/baritone saxophone), Luca Bernard (Double bass) en Gaetano Alfonsi (percussion).
