Sijstermans & Friends
A clarinet on top of timpano?! A quintet born from the coinciding of passing trainwhistles and piano playing. A song cycle for soprano and winds. From protrusive to pulsing to serene.
Clarinettist Germaine Sijstermans presents works written for her, in which the musicians enjoy a great freedom of interpretation and engage in an intense and delicate interaction. With some of the departure points in the material being the acoustic phenoma coming from microtonality, an interpretation of the concept of duality or a central asian myth. Joining Germaine in this concert will be amongst others soprano Maria Valdmaa, flutist Maarten Reumkens.
