Niklas Paschburg & Duo Daemen + Leidinger

Double Bill

Sunday 20 January 2019 / 16:00 / Intro, Maastricht

Niklas Paschburg is only 23 years old – he was born in Hamburg in 1994 – but he knows how to charm and bewitch with melodies and notes; mesmerising sounds and a cinematic atmosphere, intense crescendi and a pop flavour that moves and fascinates..Following his first EP “Tuur mang Welten”, he released his debut album ‘Oceanic’ with 7K! on 8th February 2018: a moving trip full of both melancholy and energy; twelve instrumental songs between neo-classical, ambient and electronic music, inspired by nature.

This concert is made possible with kind support of Muziekgieterij

A deep musical friendship connects Cologne based pianist Lucas Leidinger and Belgian saxophonist Daniel Daemen. Already since 2010 the two musicians have been playing together and have developed a common sound colour in which their instruments melt together as one. Dialogue forms build a framework for a sonic search into the greatest possible freedom of expression. The recognisable saxophone sound of Daniel Daemen flows seemlessly into the open piano sounds of Lucas Leidinger. They are challenged by Leidinger’s composed stories to let their music flow freely in the moment in their very own created world. The balanced interplay of the musicians has led to Lucas receiving the “Horst und Gretl Will Stipendium” for jazz and improvised music in Cologne in 2016. Their first duo CD ‘Dialogues’ released in 2018 and was released by the well respected British laberl LEO Records
